THE DOG AND GUN INN
The Dog and Gun Inn is an independent dining pub at the heart of the north Cumbrian village of Skelton. The Queen-Fryers purchased the then-closed pub back in March 2017. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to building it up as an independent and successful rural business.
Chef-owner Ben Queen-Fryer brings more than a decade of experience in some of the Lake District’s best, award-winning dining establishments. He has been a finalist in the prestigious Roux Scholarship and in our first year open has already led The Dog and Gun Inn to the Finals of the Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards 2018, Best Food and Drink Pub.
The kitchen team consists of one chef, Ben. All food served at The Dog and Gun Inn is made by Ben here on the premises. This means all breads, stocks, pasta, pastry, chips, ice cream and more. We don’t label anything as ‘homemade’ on our menu because we believe strongly that everything should be and that this is implicit in what we do and in what we serve. If you have any questions about the preparation of any of the dishes, Ben would be most happy to help.
Many hours each day go into the preparation of our menu and we hope that there is something for everyone. If you have any questions at all then please don’t hesitate to ask. We are all here to ensure that you enjoy your meal and your evening at the Dog and Gun Inn and we look forward to helping wherever we can.
WE WELCOME DOGS IN THE BACK-BAR AREA OF THE PUB
